中英禁忌语的文化差异

On Cultural Differences between English and Chinese Taboo Words

摘 要：随着经济和全球化的不断发展，中国和外国之间的交流越发频繁。其中所包含的文化差异可能会导致一些不必要的误解，成为相互理解沟通的一大障碍。本文对比了中英禁忌词语并分析隐藏在其背后的原因。第一部分是绪论。第二部分分析总结了国内外相关研究成果。第三部分比较了中英禁忌词语并找出它们的不同之处。第四部分列举了导致中英禁忌语不同的原因。第五部分是结论和作者的建议。论文旨在为中英文学习者提供必要的帮助来更好地了解禁忌语和文化差异，增加彼此的认知来避免沟通失败的情况发生。

Abstract: With the development of economy and advancement of the globalization, communications between China and foreign countries are getting increasingly frequent. Therefore, various cultural differences may lead to some unnecessary misunderstandings, which will be a huge obstacle to successful mutual learning and communication. This paper aims to compare Chinese and English taboo words and analyze the hidden causes. The first part is the introduction of this paper. The second part reviews the related works written by former researchers abroad and at home. The third part serves to compare English and Chinese taboo words and tries to find out their differences. The fourth part discusses the hidden causes of these differences from aspects of religious beliefs, geographical locations and concepts of value. The fifth part draws a conclusion of the paper and gives the author’s suggestions. It is hoped that this paper could give both English and Chinese learners assistance to better understand taboo words and the cultural differences and to increase awareness of differences and avoid communication failure.
