A Study on the English Reading Strategies in Junior Middle Schools

摘要

阅读策略是英语阅读中必不可少的一种方法。对于英语阅读策略的研究，无论对于教师还是学生都有重要意义。本论文旨在研究中学生英语阅读策略的使用情况，重申阅读策略训练对于英语教学和学习的重要性。策略训练是有效提高学生阅读能力和阅读水平的手段，而且对于培养学生的英语能力和学习能力有很大的帮助。

该研究专门针对初中二年级学生。研究用问卷调查的方式了解学生阅读策略的使用情况和他们存在的问题，以前测和后测的数据对比来了解策略训练对学生英语学习的作用。研究的对象是90名初中二年级的学生。该项研究有助于帮助教师更好了解学生的阅读能力。本论文回答了3个研究问题，提出了一些教学建议。在论文结尾处，讨论了研究的局限性并且为进一步研究提供建议。

Abstract

Reading strategy is a practical reading method for students. The research on reading strategy has a significant meaning for both teachers’ teaching activity and students’ learning activity. This research focuses on the current status of reading strategy use in Junior Middle School, and restates the importance of strategy instruction. Strategy instruction is an efficient method to improve students’ English competence and learning capacity.

The research focuses on reading strategy in Junior middle school. The  questionnaire will reveal the situation of using reading strategy by students. The comparison between the pretest and post-test will prove the function of strategy instruction. This research of reading strategy includes ninety students. This paper answers three research questions and puts forward some implications. At the end of this paper, it discusses the limitations and give some suggestions for the further research.
