动态系统理论下的二语词汇习得测量
Measuring Second Language Vocabulary Acquisition from the Perspective of Dynamic Systems Theory
摘要:在之前的研究中,学者们倾向于测量词汇深度和词汇广度。然而,这是远远不够的。本文将会从动态系统理论的视角来分析二语词汇习得的测试,并且进一步表明词汇知识的测量不应仅局限于深度和广度。动态系统理论框架下研究二语词汇习得意味着我们应该把词汇知识看作一个相互联结的系统,而不是独立的部分。动态系统理论的主要特征是复杂性、动态性和非线性。首先,本文将先介绍该论文的北京信息和在动态系统理论下研究二语词汇习得的目的和意义。其次,依次介绍动态系统理论、词汇测试现状以及如何将动态系统理论与二语词汇习得测试结合起来。再次,详细介绍七个方面的词汇知识的测量,这可以提供一个对不同词汇知识的清晰了解。从此,本文将阐述对于二语词汇测试的启示以及对学习、教学和研究的建议。最后,总结本文的优缺点,并且希望该领域在未来能有更完整更综合的研究。

Abstract: In the previous study, researchers are inclined to measure vocabulary knowledge on the breadth or depth of vocabulary knowledge; however, this is far from enough. This paper will analyze the measurements of second language vocabulary acquisition from the perspective of Dynamic Systems Theory (short for DST) and emphasize that the measurements should not only be limited to the breadth and depth. DST means that we should regard word knowledge as a comprehensive system instead of separated sections. The main features of DST are complex, dynamic and nonlinear. Firstly, the paper will introduce the research background and then its research purpose and significance of second language vocabulary acquisition under the guidance of DST, followed by an overview towards DST, current situation of vocabulary measurement and combining DST with second language vocabulary measurement. After finishing this, six different aspects of words knowledge’s measurements will be discussed in detail to give us a clear understanding on how different aspects of vocabulary knowledge works. Then comes the part of enlightenment and suggestions, including enlightenment for measurements and suggestions for teaching, researching and learning vocabulary. Finally, the author will draw a conclusion about the merits and demerits of this paper and look forward to future study in this field more comprehensive and complete.
