摘要

《飘》是马格丽特.米歇尔一生唯一的一部小说，但只此一部小说就足以让她成为世界最伟大的女性作家之一。融合了爱情、战争和女性主义，《飘》成功且无可替代。本篇论文主要研究《飘》中女主角斯嘉丽.奥哈拉的性格特征，一个聪明、勇敢、坚强而又独立的女性形象，同时，她又兼具叛逆、虚荣、自私与现实的特点。斯嘉丽是一位非同寻常的女性，她并不完美，但她受到广泛的赞赏，她是旧时代的新女性。

Abstract

Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind is her only novel in her life, but with just one novel she is no doubt one of the greatest women writer in the world. Mixed with love, war and feminism, Gone with the Wind is successful and irreplaceable. This piece of dissertation mainly studies about the protagonist Scarlett O’Hara’s characteristics, a vivid female image who is smart, brave, strong-minded and independent, and yet she is also rebellious, vain, selfish and realistic. Scarlett is an unusual woman, she is not perfect but she is admired widely, she is the new woman of the old time.
