跨文化视角下的中美隐私观差异研究

A Study of Differences between Chinese and American Views of Privacy from the Cross-cultural Perspective

摘  要：随着经济全球化进程的加快，来自不同文化背景的人们相互接触的频率越来越高。在跨文化交际过程中，人们经常会产生误解甚至冲突，这必然会导致跨文化交际的失败。我们都知道这种失败是有很多原因导致的，但最为直接的原因是文化的差异。

本文将通过跨文化交际的理论说明了两国不同的隐私观内涵，在此基础上阐述两国不同的隐私观在人际交往，生活空间和隐私处理等方面的差异。笔者不仅会探究两国不同隐私观的不同成因和各自的特点，还从个人主义-集体主义维度进一步探讨隐私观的研究意义。

Abstract: Along with the process of economic globalization speeding up，that people from different cultural background contact with each other is becoming increasingly frequent.  During the intercultural communication, people are often confronted with misunderstanding, even conflicts, which inevitably lead to the failure of the communication. As we all know, there are many reasons for that, but the most immediate cause is the differences of culture.

This paper will describe the contents of the two different concept of privacy through the theory of intercultural communication, tell the differences of the view of the privacy between the two countries in interpersonal communication and living space, privacy handling, comparing the two countries different view of privacy. The writer not only tries to explore the different reasons and respective characteristics of privacy but also further discuss the research meaning of it from Individualism-Collectivism dimension.
