人性异化视阈下的《风暴眼》

The Analysis of The Eye of the Storm from the Perspective of Humanity Alienation

摘  要：帕特里克·维克托·马丁代尔·怀特被认为是当代澳大利亚文学中享有盛名的作家。他是二十世纪最重要的英语作家之一，也是1973届诺贝尔文学奖得主。他的作品《风暴眼》于1973年出版，这对他获得当年的诺贝尔奖有着重要的意义。本文从人性异化的理论出发，分析了在物欲横流的社会影响下，书中主要角色异常的关系和亨特太太本人自我的异变。亨特太太作为本书的关键人物，几乎所有的剧情都围绕着她而展开。在她的家庭中的人际关系异化表现为：夫妻关系疏离，母子关系冷漠，兄妹关系畸形。除此之外，亨特太太自我的异化也是本文的一个焦点。本文通过对主要人物异化的分析，揭示了隐藏在人性表面之下的黑暗与自私。

Abstract: Patrick Victor Martindale White, acknowledged as the prestigious writer in contemporary Australian literature, is one of the most important English writers in twentieth Century, and the winner of 1973 Nobel prize in literature. One of his works, The Eye of the Storm, was published in 1973, which has great significance for his Nobel Prize winning of that year. Through the theory of Humanity Alienation, this paper analyzes the abnormal relationships between the main roles in the novel and the Id Alienation of Mrs.Hunter, under the influence of the acquisitive society. Mrs.Hunter as the central figure of the novel, who was the novel’s plot revolved around. The alienation of interpersonal relationship in her family is shown as follows, estranged relationship between husband and wife, indifferent relationship between mother and children, malformed relationship between sister and brother. In addition, Mrs. Hunter’s Id alienation is also a focus of this paper. By analyzing the alienation of main characters, the paper reveals the darkness and selfishness hidden under the surface of humanity.
