摘要

译者是翻译过程中的审美主体,当代文学界的审美现代化演进，为翻译领域注入了新的血液，使文化传播途径不断伸展。本文从现代性视域入手，结合林语堂所写的《论翻译》中的内容，来分析林语堂的翻译美学，从而把握促进文化传播的有效翻译手法，为中国审美现代性研究增砖添瓦。文章可分为四大部分。第一部分是审美现代性的概念及中西审美现代性的萌芽。第二部分，从宏观和微观视角分析了林语堂的翻译观，其中宏观角度包含了林语堂的翻译艺术观，文化杂合观，性灵文学观；微观角度则阐述了三个翻译标准：忠实，通顺，美。文章同时也阐述了直译与意译结合、句译、释义翻译等翻译方法。此文通过研究林语堂在翻译中展现出来现代化美学翻译观及其贡献，总结出了对于现代译者而言，如何传播中国文化的三方面启示，即文化自信，译作体裁选择及美学翻译方式。
