从功能对等的角度看中医药术语的英译_英语论文

On English Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Terminology from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory

摘要

随着中国经济的迅猛发展，人民生活水平的不断提高,身体健康逐渐成为大众追求。而中医作为中华文化的瑰宝，成为了大多数健康追求者的不二选择。它不仅为中华名族的繁衍和发展做出了巨大贡献，更成为世界医学不可或缺的一部分。然而由于各国文化的差异，中医药术语自身的一些特征以及翻译者质量参差不齐，中医药术语的翻译差强人意，有时甚至使人误解，这严重阻碍了中医文化的对外交流。本文从功能对等的角度深度剖析中医药英译中存在的问题，探讨功能对等理论指导下中医药术语英译的原则与方法，为传播中华名族优秀传统文化，为世界各国医学交流共享做出自己的贡献。

Abstract

It is known to all that China has made great progress in the economic field. Under this circumstance, people’s living standard has improved a lot. Persuing health also finds its popularity in recent years. Traditional Chinese medicine, as the treasure of Chinese culture, is always an option. Not only does traditional Chinese medicine contribute to the prosperity and development of Chinese nation, but also it becomes an integral part of world medicine. Nevertheless, the cultural differences and unique characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine result in the low satisfaction of translation. Meanwhile, training professional translators is also of great importance to external cultural exchange of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper analyzed the current situation and strategies of traditional Chinese medicine terminology translation from the perspective of functional equivalence theory and put forward some effective measures to improve the current translations, hoping to make some contributions to world medical communication while carrying forward the fine traditional culture of China.
