从功能对等理论的角度对格列佛游记两个中译本的比较分析_英语论文

A Comparative Analysis of the Two Chinese Versions of The Gulliver’s Travels from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory

摘要

《格列佛游记》自从问世以来，受到无数人的喜爱与推广。很多学者从不同角度对其进行了研究分析。本文从奈达的功能对等理论入手，选取《格列佛游记》的两个代表性的译本，将理论与翻译相结合，对比分析了《格列佛游记》两个汉译本中意义，风格，源文本和目标文本之间的主要区别，还分析了选择该翻译策略所涉及到的因素。通过两个不同版本的比较，验证了功能对等理论的实用性，为以后的文学翻译提供更多的视角。运用该理论来研究《格列佛游记》有利于论证其对翻译实践的指导作用，对构建具有中国文化特色的翻译理论体系具有深远的意义。

Abstract

Since the advent of Gulliver's Travels, it has been loved by millions of people and has gotten a great promotion. Many scholars studied it from different angles. This article chooses two typical translations from Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory. It combines theory with translation and analyses the two Chinese translation versions. The article includes meaning, style, the main differences between the source text and the target text and some factors involved in the choice of translation strategy. Through the comparison of two different versions, we can verify the practicability of Functional Equivalence Theory and provide more angles of literary translation. Using the theory to study Gulliver's Travels is beneficial to proving its guidance to translation practice. It has profound meaning for the construction of translation theory system with Chinese cultural characteristics.
