目的论指导下的《红楼梦》菜名的翻译研究_英语论文
Application of Skopos Theory in the Translation of Dish Names in A Dream of Red Mansions
摘要
近年来,我国加快了融入全球化的步伐,对外开放的程度日益扩大,中西方文化交流也日益密切。在这样一个背景下,与我们生活息息相关的菜名翻译也引起了广泛的关注。本文以杨宪益和戴乃迭的英译本为例运用目的论,根据翻译目的对《红楼梦》中菜名的翻译进行分析讨论,总结出对菜名翻译恰当的翻译策略和方法,对于传播中国传统饮食文化具有一定理论和实践意义。

Abstract
In recent years, China has quickened its steps into the international market. Besides, the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries is increasingly frequent. Under such a background, the translation of dish names, which is closely related to daily life, arouses a wide concern. This paper chiefly applies Skopos Theory in making an analysis of the translation of dish names in A Dream of Red Mansions. Taking Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang. Tayler’s version as an example, specific suitable translation strategies and methods are summarized according to the translation purpose, in order to shed some light on introducing Chinese traditional dietary culture to the world.
