A Comparative Analysis of Ellipsis in English and Chinese and its Translation Strategies

摘要

众所周知，我们的全球化正快速地发展，世界的经济，经济以及各国间的文化交流日趋频繁。也就是说，我们应该高度重视翻译的作用。因为各国间语言文化存在的差异，合理且准确的翻译就显得格外重要。对中英文翻译中省略现象的分析是我们需要研究的一个重要方面。

本文将从代词、连词、冠词、介词、修饰性五个方面分析英汉翻译中的省略问题，这使得中国与英语国家间的交流更加有效和流畅。对我们而言是更好地理解中英文的语言特征。

Abstract

As is known to us all, our globalization has been developing so rapidly, the world's economic, political and cultural communications between countries are becoming more and more frequent. That is to say, we should attach great importance to the role of translation. Reasonable and accurate translation is significant owning to language and cultural disparity. The analysis on ellipsis in English-Chinese translation is one of the important aspects that translators should research. 

The paper will analyze the differences in ellipsis in English-Chinese translation from five aspects, which are ellipsis of pronouns, conjunctions, articles, prepositions, modifications, which will make the communication between China and English-speaking countries more effective and smooth. The purpose is for us to have a better understanding of the language features in English and Chinese.
