On the Translation of Address Terms in Hong  Lou Meng

摘要

近年来，随着中国与世界的交流日益密切，中国文化与世界各国文化联系日益紧密，作为中国传统文化的形象代表，《红楼梦》有着不可忽略的重要地位，是使中国文化走向世界，树立良好国际形象的重要环节之一，如何进行成功的《红楼梦》的翻译对文化交流来说至关重要。本文从“归化与异化”这一翻译理论出发，主要利用列举法对《红楼梦》称呼语的翻译进行对比研究分析，并提出有效的改进方法，有助于我们在今后文化交流中，更好更成功的翻译《红楼梦》。

Abstract

Recently, under the great impact of globalization, Chinese culture has been closely related to world civilization. Communication between China and other countries has been more and more frequent. As a typical representative of Chinese traditional culture, Hong Lou Meng plays an important role that can not be neglected and contributes to the promotion of Chinese culture as well as the building of a good international image. Thus how to translate Hong Lou Meng has become a vital issue. This thesis is going to analyze the translation of address terms in Hong Lou Meng according to Domestication and Foreignization Theory and put forward some effective measures to improve current translation of address terms in Hong Lou Meng.
