《喜福会》中的中美文化冲突

摘  要

西方国家的中国移民与本土居民产生冲突的主要原因是由于两国文化背景的差异，小说《喜福会》，从各方面展现了四对母女之间的矛盾，作者以此来揭示中、美两国的文化冲突。在小说的结尾，因为相互的理解与沟通，母女关系得到改善。在当今经济、政治、文化全球化的趋势下，理解文化差异，避免文化冲突就显得格外重要。本论文旨在对小说《喜福会》中母女矛盾进行全面分析，通过对两代人之间的语言表达、行为方式、婚姻观念等方面的差异来实现对中美文化冲突的进一步了解与认知，目的是通过相互的认知来实现中美文化的交流与融合。

Abstract

The main reason for the conflict between Chinese immigrants and local residents in western countries is due to the cultural differences between the two countries. The novel ,the Joy Luck Club, shows the contradiction between four pairs of mothers and daughters from all aspects. The author reveals the cultural conflicts between the two countries. At the end of the novel, the relationship of mothers and daughters is improved, because of mutual understanding and communication. Under the trend of economic, political and cultural globalization,it is particularly important to understand cultural differences and avoid cultural conflicts. The purpose of this thesis is to make a comprehensive analysis of the contradiction between mothers and daughters in the Joy Luck Club, and to realize the further understanding and cognition of China and American cultural conflict through the differences of language expression, behavior mode and marriage concept between the two generations.The aim is to achieve cultural exchanges and integration between China and the United States through mutual recognition.
