摘要

本文基于功能对等理论，对《围城》中文化负载词的英译进行研究，首先对《围城》 中大量的文化负载词进行分类，依据奈达关于文化负载词的分类方法，主要分为五类：物质文化负载词，生态文化负载词，宗教文化负载词，社会文化负载词，语言文化负载词。接着对每类文化负载词中具有代表性的词汇进行中译文对比分析，探究译者所使用的翻译策略与方法，及其效果是否达到功能对等。最后总结出几种文化负载词翻译中常用的策略与方法，并得出其中最有效实现功能对等的一种。

本文选取在文化典籍中占有重要地位的《围城》一书，从功能对等理论的视角，探究其中文化负载词的翻译策略与方法，对于推进文化负载词的英译研究，典籍翻译研究及中西方文化的传播交流具有重要的指导意义。
