从强化语的汉译来看机器翻译与人工翻译的异同_英语论文

A Comparative Study of E-C translation of Intensifiers between Machine Translation and Human Translation

摘要

近些年，机器翻译作为重要的交流辅助工具备受关注。相比人工翻译，机器翻译虽存在缺陷，其优势也逐步突显。本研究旨从强化语的汉译来对比机器翻译与人工翻译的优势和缺陷。本文从Solo Launcher英语用户的评论中收集到含有600个强化语的评论作为语料,从语义和语用的角度分析谷歌翻译和人工翻译译本的异同点。分析结果表明，在强化语的翻译上，机器翻译的词汇丰富度远不及人工翻译，且在句子中与其他词汇成分搭配方式较单一，对于有双重词性、意义的强化语存在辨别失误的现象。此外，机器翻译的风格较书面化，而人工翻译更口语化。基于此，本研究建议谷歌系统在平行语料库的基础上添加人工干预调整翻译原理，以注重人际意义的传递。

Abstract

In recent years, the global cross-cultural exchanges reaching a new height, machine translation (MT) is receiving more and more attention as a significant aided tool of language communication. Compared with human translation (HT), machine translation (MT), in spite of many flaws, is gradually highlighting its own distinguished advantages. Analyzing Chinese translation of English intensifiers, this study aims to investigate the similarities and differences between machine translation and human translation, and assess their weaknesses and strengths respectively. 600 intensifiers from comments in Google Play given by English native users of Solo Launcher are analyzed from semantic and pragmatic perspectives. The results show that MT has less advantages than HT no matter in lexical richness or collocation with other parts of speech. Compared with HT, MT sometimes fails to convey the shades of meaning of intensifiers in certain contexts. Besides, MT is more formal while HT is more colloquial. Thus, in order to improve MT quality, manual intervention should be considered in Google translation system to represent interpersonal meanings of language.
