对《飘》中人物形象邦妮的研究分析_英语论文

A Research on the Character Bonnie in Gone with the Wind  

摘要

《飘》，一部以美国内战为背景的长篇小说，一直以来都是爱情与婚姻、战争及女性主义等方面的研究热点。小说中女主人公斯嘉丽的小女儿邦妮是个色彩鲜明的人物形象，但至今很少被研究过。本论文试图通过分析该人物及其父母的性格特点, 其父母对她的态度及原因，以及研究对象的象征意义，对人物形象邦妮进行研究分析。并由此得出结论：研究对象不仅仅是个小女孩，更是其父母爱情与矛盾的结合体，亦是其母亲的映像与其父亲的精神寄托；研究对象的存在与死亡与其父母的爱情与矛盾密切相关，其父母对研究对象的成长与塑造亦影响深远。

Abstract

As a full-length novel against the background of the civil war, Gone with the Wind always focuses on the research of love, war, feminism, etc. The character Bonnie, the little daughter of the heroine Scarlett, a featured role in the novel, has not been concerned much before yet. This thesis attempts to research the character Bonnie by analyzing Bonnie’s personality, her parents’ nature and their attitudes towards her, and the symbolic meaning of the character, thus come to the conclusion that Bonnie is more than a girl but a spiritual sustenance of her father, the reflection of her mother, and the product of the love and contradiction of her parents; the research subject Bonnie’s existing and dying are closely related with her parents’ love and contradiction, and her parents influence her deeply in her developing and character building.
