Social Dilemma and Survival of the Interracial Families: A Case Study of Everything I Never Told You

Abstract

With the rapid development of global economic integration, economic exchanges between various countries have become increasingly close. More and more Chinese are on the stage of the world. At the same time, mainland China has attracted a large number of foreign companies. This is when more and more people from different countries or ethnicities are entering the halls of marriage and combining them into the beginning of an interracial family. This paper starts from this social phenomenon and combines the novel Everything I Never Told You to describe the situation of interracial family in depth. It analyzes the social difficulties faced by interracial family and the difficult survival path.

This paper consists of four parts. The first part introduces the basic meaning of interracial family, and combines the novel Everything I Never Told You to clarify the unique characteristics of interracial family. In the second part, through the discussion of racial discrimination, gender discrimination and inequality of educational resources, the paper analyzes the various social difficulties encountered by interracial family. The third part, in conjunction with the social dilemmas mentioned in the previous part, further explored the deep-rooted reasons behind the social dilemmas, including politics and economics. In the last part, this article summarizes the various social difficulties overcome by interracial family and the path of survival sought in difficulties.

On the basis of fully reading and understanding the novel Everything I Never Told You, this paper accurately defines the meaning of interracial family based on the social background of the novel creation, and deeply analyzes the social dilemmas faced by interracial family at that time and its efforts to find a way to survive. Therefore, this paper can clearly explain the interracial family, and deeply analyze the dilemmas and survival of the interracial family under the background of the times, so as to enlighten the contemporary interracial family.
