中国神话作为中国文学的一个重要组成部分具有其独特的魅力，承载着中华民族厚重的历史和丰富的文化。副文本包括封面、前言、插图和注释等，作为文本不可或缺的一部分同样具有重要的研究价值。尤其是在现代社会，随着大众媒体的发展和国内外学者研究的深入，副文本的形式越来越丰富。本论文分析和比较了中国神话两个不同的英文版本，即《中国神话与志怪小说一百篇》和《中国神话故事》，揭示了封面、前言、插图和注释都是促进其流通和理解的因素。
