A Thematic Study of Anthropocentrism in Frankenstein

摘要

《弗兰肯斯坦》是英国著名作家玛丽雪莱的第一部哥特式科幻预言小说，本文从人类中心主义角度出发，研究小说中的人类中心主义内容，分析弗兰肯斯坦的典型人类中心主义特征及行为。揭示弗兰肯斯坦和他的怪物的悲剧，表达玛丽雪莱对“人类中心”的批判和小说给我们带来的警示与启示。

Abstract

Frankenstein is Mary Shelley’s first Gothic scientific prophetic novel. From the perspective of anthropocentrism, this thesis discusses the anthropocentrism in the novel, analyzing Frankenstein’s typical anthropocentric personalities and behaviors, exploring the misery of both Frankenstein and his monster to reveal Mary Shelley’s criticism of anthropocentrism as well as the caution and enlightenment the novel brings about.
