教材在英语教学中的价值浪费_英语论文

Pedagogical Value Wasted in Textbook Use in EFL Teaching

摘要

在语言学习中,教材一直扮演着重要的角色。它为课程和活动设计提供了材料和指导,以确保课堂结构和逻辑思维的一致性,提高学生听说读写等语言技能,丰富学生的知识,拓展学生的视野以及提高学生的审美能力。如今,尽管教材的质量日益提高,老师使用教材的方式仍然停留在传统的提取语言点。在日常教学中,教材中的许多价值都被老师浪费了。教材的文化价值,语用价值以及课本插图的价值都没有得到老师的重视,导致学生舍近求远,花大量时间在寻找和利用教材以外的学习资源。这些资源往往呈碎片化,缺乏系统性,增加的学习的难度,使学生失去对学习英语的兴趣从而降低学习效率。在实际的英语教学课堂中,老师应充分挖掘和利用教材的教学价值来提高学生的学习效率。

Abstract

Textbooks play a significant role in foreign language teaching. They provide guidance for lesson plan and activity design to assure consistency, structure as well as logical progression in a lesson. What’s more, it helps improve students’ language skills, enrich their knowledge, broaden their horizons and even develop their aesthetic abilities. While the quality of textbooks has been greatly improved, EFL teachers’ ways of using them remain unchanged, causing large amounts of pedagogical value of textbooks to be wasted. The cultural value, pragmatic value and aesthetic value etc. have been wasted. Without proper guidance in using textbooks, some students spend much time looking for extra materials which are not systematic and usually add to their difficulty in EFL learning. It is high time teachers exploited textbooks and made the most of them so as to improve students’ learning efficiency.
