Schema-transference Theory and Middle School English Teaching

摘要

论文将会从一个全新的角度,运用图式-迁移理论探究其对中学英语教学的影响。论文的第一部分将分别阐述图式理论和迁移理论学习的概念,然后简单对图式迁移理论进行解释;论文的第二部分重点分析图式对迁移的影响,包括具有相关图式与缺乏相关图式分别对迁移的影响以及不同的图式产生不同的迁移;论文的第三部分从正迁移和负迁移两个角度来阐述原有母语图式对外语学习的影响;最后探究出利用丰富图式、促进迁移的原则促进中学英语教学并提出相关建议:首先外语教材的知识结构要有利于丰富、完善学生的知识结构以促进迁移。此外,外语教学应系统地介绍世界文化背景知识,特别是存在于目标语国家典型的文化背景知识,培养学生的文化差异意识。尤为重要的是,外语练习和测试中应对学生的文化背景知识的深度和广度开展相应的评估以保证迁移的顺利进行。

Abstract

The present paper applies schema-transference theory to study how it influences middle school English teaching from a new aspect. In the first part, this paper explains the concept of schema and the concept of transference one by one, following the concept of schema-transference theory. The second part emphasizes the influence of schema on transference, involving the impact of schema process on transference and different schema resulting in different transference. The third part respectively introduces the transference from existing schema in mother language to English learning in positive transfer and negative transfer. The last part of this paper makes a conclusion of teaching principle of enriching the schema and promoting transfer and gives some effective suggestions, such as teaching structure of knowledge in textbook to enrich and perfect the students’ structure of knowledge, teaching English in middle school systematically to introduce the background knowledge of the world culture, and exercise-designing and testing to carry out corresponding assessment.
