English collocation and its function in text cohesion

摘要

词汇搭配是语言综合能力的重要组成部分。利用英语词汇搭配，可以扩大词汇量，掌握单词的正确用法。在社会生活的绝大多数场合，人们通过正确的词汇组合，恰当合理的语言表达，从而完整表达主题思想，达到成功交际的目的。但多年来，许多老师和学生一直被英语词语搭配的问题所困扰，在写作中更是经常出现搭配方面的错误。当遇到搭配问题时，许多人不能不能地作出判断并且选择应该使用的词语，这会直接影响大家对搭配所表达的概念的理解及其在具体语境中的意义。目前研究语篇衔接功能联系的著作并不是很多，而研究英语搭配与语篇衔接功能之间这方面的文献则更少，但这两者存在着密不可分的关系。本文将逐步帮助帮助学习者了解英语学习中搭配在语篇衔接中的功能并在实际情况中能帮助学习者克服因搭配而产生的对于语意的误解甚至错解现象，从而使学习者更加顺畅地阅读与学习，最终提高英语能力。

Abstract

Collocation is an important part in language comprehensive abilities. We can use English collocation to enlarge our vocabulary and grasp the right use of words. On most occasions in social life, people can express their opinions properly through the correct lexical collocation in order to communicate successfully. However, over the past few years, many teachers and students are trapped in writing in terms of collocation. When they meet this problem, most people cannot make judgment or choose the words they supposed to choose naturally. It will influence people’s understanding towards words or even the meaning of a text directly. Nowadays, there are not many works about the function in text cohesion, and even there are fewer works about the collocation and its function in text cohesion, but the two have close relationship. This essay will help learners know more about English collocation and its function in text cohesion and help them overcome some difficulties due to the misunderstanding. Finally, they can read and study more successfully and improve their English skills as a result.
