从《虎妈战歌》看中美家庭教育差异_英语论文

Differences in Chinese and American Family Education Reflected in Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother

摘要

随着社会的发展，世界上各个国家都将家庭教育看作是一种非常重要的教育。而在这发展的大潮流之中，中国与美国截然不同的家庭教育文化碰撞出了极其激烈的火花。中国家庭教育坚持严格的纪律,培养孩子的刻苦精神。美国人提倡自由与平等,他们尊重孩子的个性发展。2011年1月，一本在大洋彼岸引发教育方法口水战的书籍《虎妈战歌》在中国市场开始销售。而这本书更是在中美教育界引起了一场轩辕大波，话题也从中美家庭教育的差异上升到中美文化的差异，甚至升华到中美国家间的竞争。本文从《虎妈战歌》出发来探讨中美家庭教育的文化，旨在中美文化之间寻找一个平衡点，为我国的家庭教育的的发展提供参考。

Abstract

Along with the society advanced，family education plays a more and more important role in education. In this trend of development, Chinese family education and America family education collide together with sparks. Chinese adhere to the strict discipline, and Americans advocate freedom and equality. They respect children's personality. It seems that the differences in Chinese and American family education have become an extremely controversial topic, especially when the book entitled Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother was published in 2011. Back then, the book was more like a great disturbance, causing the Chinese and the Western educational circles to discuss till now. This paper aims at finding a balance between Chinese and American family education concepts. It is also wise for us to take American family education as a mirror, so that we can figure out an enlightening and feasible method for future Chinese family education.
