摘　要

随着世界文化多样性的发展和影视娱乐传播技术的提升，越来越多的外文电影已在中国普及开来。本文研究的目的就是如何将这些电影的名称巧妙而精确的展示给观众。众所周知，中西方文化之间对电影片名的理解存在偏差，所以译者在进行翻译的同时也应该注意文化偏差和尊重文化的多样性。而在翻译的过程中由于译者的想法经验和知识不同，翻译的结果也会有所不同。此时，译者就需要掌握基本的翻译技巧与遵循一定的翻译原则。本文着重研究了在跨文化角度下电影名称翻译的技巧和原则。在不违背东西方文化的差异性下将电影名称精确地翻译出来，从而最大化地发挥电影名称的功能。而这些技巧和原则，在以后的电影名称翻译中，也都将扮演着不可或缺的角色。

Abstract

With the upgrade of the world's cultural diversity and the film and television entertainment communication technologies, more and more foreign language movie has been popularized in China. The purpose of this essay is how to display the name of the movie skillfully and precisely to the audience. As we all know, because that the understanding of the movie title between the different cultures may exist deviations, so translator should focus on these deviations and respect the cultural diversity. And because of the difference in the idea of the experience and knowledge of the translator during the translation process, the results will also be different. At this point, the translator will need to master the basic translation skills and follow certain translation principles. This paper is a research on movie title translation skills and principles from a perspective of intercultural communication, and not be contrary to the East-West cultural differences under the name of the movie skillfully translated, enabling to maximize the function of movie names. These skills and principles will continuously play an important role in the translation of English movie title in the future.

1 Introduction
1.1 Background
1.1.1 Main content of translation theory  
    Movie title translation requires several skills and principles from the perspective of intercultural communication. There are five methods for English movie title translation: transliterating, literal translating, free translation, adding, removing and creating, literal free translation and transliterating free translation. And five main principles: Information value principle, Cultural value principle, Aesthetic value principle, Commercial value principle, and Goal orientation value principle. By using these skills and principles, translators can solve those problems in the process of movie title translation, such as violations and misunderstandings on other cultures in a translated title. This is the purpose of this essay. And the main purpose of this essay focuses on those movie titles which are more difficult to be translated into Chinese than those easy ones.
