摘　要

随着经济全球化的发展，我国与世界各地区之间的交往越来越频繁，商务沟通的作用也越来越重要。外贸函电是我们建立对外贸易关系和外贸往来的重要手段。外贸函电包括建立客户业务关系，询价，报盘，还盘，订货，接受，签约，包装，装运，支付，结算，保险，商检，索赔，代理及仲裁等到几项特殊贸易形式和经济技术合作。由于其独特的语言特点，其翻译技巧的提升也越来越重要。
词汇是语言的基础。外贸函电实用性、专业性很强，其用词的独特性使之区别于普通英语，研究其专业词汇和词类特殊用法具有十分重要的意义。专业术语，介词，古体词等等都使得外贸函电具有特殊的语言风格。
由于外贸函电是商务英语，同时传达着商务理论和实务。在其应用及翻译过程中，译者应从词汇、句式、篇章这三方面全面的掌握外贸函电翻译技巧。

Abstract

Along with the rapid process of globalization and the quickening development of international trade, business correspondence, as one of communicating modes, plays a more and more important role. Under such circumstances, the translation of business correspondence is put into high state. This paper focuses on the language characteristics of business correspondence and discusses details about the translation skills.
    Diction is the basis of a certain language. Business correspondences are pragmatical and professional. Business correspondences differ from common English mostly in the features of diction. Research on the professional terms and special use of common words are meaningful. Vocabulary such as trading terms, flexible prepositions and classical words makes business correspondences featured with unique language style.
   As business correspondences are used for business purpose carrying on business theory as well as practice. In the process of application and translation, the translators should have a comprehensive understanding and grasp the translation skills from the perspective of diction, syntax and context.

1 Introduction
This paper is to explore the features of diction and the translation skills of business correspondences.
1.1 Background information
With the further deepening of reform and opening and especially China’s entry into WTO, the national economy has developed quickly, which boosts the growth of foreign trade and make the situation of international trade change with each passing day. Business English is welcomed as its certain style of strong applicability. Business English correspondence, as foreign trade carrier, its development and updating will effectively promote the development of foreign trade. As more and more frequently is translation of business English letters, their high status becomes obvious. Therefore the studies and researches on the language features and translation skills of business English correspondences become most essential issues.
