摘　要

信息文化交流在这个以市场经济导向为主体，全球化的时代越来越频繁，也越来越重要。书籍，作为信息和文化的载体，在不同国家间输入和输出无疑是经济文化交流很重要的一环。而书名是整个作品的点睛之笔，书名的翻译自然具有开门点睛的作用。正是书名的特殊地位和作用，书名的翻译一直困扰着翻译者们。在书名翻译的实践中，书名的翻译实际上是一种很强的目的性行为，它包含了对于文化和语境等各种因素的分析和考虑。这些都决定了译者对于翻译策略和翻译方法的选择。英语和汉语都是高度发展的语言，都拥有极其丰富的词汇和表达形式。但不论在语言形式，还是在文化背景方面，二者均相距甚远。英汉词语意义上往往是左右交错，而非上下重合，非明辨词义、内涵很难达到精密准确。书名难译，但并非不可译。迄今为止，讨论书名翻译的文章不少，但讨论书名翻译原则的文章却少见,，以往的关于书名的翻译文章大多基于奈达的等效论，与以往不同的是，本文从一个新的角度——目的论的角度对书名的翻译进行了分析探讨，将通过对个案的分析研究探讨书名翻译的原则和方法。

Abstract

Information and cultural exchanges are happening with increasing frequency in the era of Globalization. And of course they have become more and more important. Books, as a carrier of information and culture, their input and output are undoubtedly a very important part of economic and cultural exchanges between different countries. Book title is the soul of the whole book, and book title translation surely plays an essential part in the translation of the whole writing and thus requires special consideration. It is the special status and role of the title that made translation of the title has been plagued by the translator. By practicing to translate book titles, we found that translating book titles actually has a strong purpose; it contains the analysis of various factors such as culture and context. All these reasons have decided the choice of the translator for the translation strategies and translation methods. The existing translation theories are rarely applicable to the translation of book title. This thesis discusses the translation of book titles. Different from other previous articles which have based their study of book title translation on the equivalence theory, this thesis provides Skopos Theory, a new guiding theory to the study of book title translation. From the purpose point of view, namely the Skopos Theory, it discusses its application in book title translation practice and explores the influence of the cultural and political elements and suggests the translating principles and translation methods.
