摘　要

现在全球都都在共享英文电影，这种现象非常常见，在当代社会英文电影给我们带来精神盛宴的同时，他们正在成为文化交流的重要途径。在中国存在很多不同版本的英文电影名称翻译版本，不标准的翻译在香港和台湾十分常见。因此，如何规范英文电影片名的翻译和消除这些问题，逐步实现标准化的英文电影片名的翻译已经成为翻译行业和媒体界面临的重大课题。电影名称在理解一部电影时起到非常重要的作用。它成为文化交流的一种重要方式。基于英文电影名称功能和特点的研究，本篇论文通过多角度分析英语电影的中文翻译，将主要集中在英语电影名称汉译的标准和方法。

Abstract

The whole world is sharing English Movies at the same time, it is very common in modern society that English Movies bring us spiritual feast, they are becoming the important medium of cultural exchange. In China, there many different versions of English movie title translation, ungrounded translation is also rife in Hong Kong and Taiwan. So how to regulate the translation of English movie title and get rid of these problems to gradually realize the standardization of the translation of English movie title has become a major issue facing the translation industry and media circles. Film titles play a very vital role in understanding a film and it becomes an important method in the activity of cultural communication. Based on the research of characteristics and the functions of movie titles, this article will analysis the Chinese translation of English movie titles from many directions, mainly focus on English movie titles translation principles and methods.

1 Introduction
Nida says: "Translation consists in the reproduction in the receptor language of the message of the source language in such a way that the receptors in receptor language may be able to understand adequately how the original receptors of the source language understand the original message". A successful translation of it can guide receivers to the approach of the original message. A good translation should be like Mr. Lin Yutang's criteria, "faithfulness, fluency, and beautifulness", which are developed from Mr. Yan Fu's "faithfulness, expressiveness, and elegance". As an audiovisual art, film is one of the most influential mass media, it follows and reflects people's life and it is a product of culture. The film title is the part of a film which gives the most information. It beings short in form but is rich in meaning and has its own cultural and linguistic features. A properly translated movie title should be concise, condensed and compact which can grasp the attention of the audience at their first sight and stimulate their association with the plot, reveal the theme or offer some clue. The introduction of foreign films plays an important role in promoting cultural exchanges, and enriching people's leisure time. But the film title translation remains as an issue currently. As to the same film, it often has several different translations for its English film title. The Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan versions can hardly achieve unity in most cases, which makes confusion and inconvenience for the audience.
