摘 要
近年来,随着国际文化交往的日趋频繁,翻译的重心逐渐从语言转移到了文化上,异化和归化作为处理文化问题的两种方法,在中西方翻译界引起了激烈的争论。本文首先对异化和归化相关理论做逐一介绍,然后介绍《爱玛》的写作风格和背景以及两本中文译本的翻译风格。最后作者从异化和归化角度对《爱玛》的两个中文译本的若干译例来进行分析比较。作者认为,异化和归化都有其优缺点,有其存在和应用的价值,优秀的翻译应该做到异化和归化互补。所以译者在翻译时要把握好度,努力在异化和归化之间寻求平衡点。

Abstract
In recent years, with frequent cultural communications among the nations, the focus of translation is gradually shifted from the language to culture. Therefore, foreignization and domestication, which are two methods of dealing with culture problems, have caused intense disputes in both Chinese and Western translation circle. This paper firstly introduces the related theories of foreignization and domestication. Then, an introduction to the writing style and background of Emma and the translation style of the two Chinese versions will be made. Finally, the author makes a comparative analysis on some examples from the two Chinese versions of Emma from the perspective of foreignization and domestication. Actually, foreignization and domestication both have their advantages and disadvantages and each has its value of existence and application. The author holds that an excellent translation should be a combination of foreignization and domestication. Therefore, translators should pay attention to the degree of combination and try their best to seek the balance between foreignization and domestication.

1 Introduction
Translation is an important means by which people from different countries can communicate with each other. Literary translation, which is one of the most difficult types of translation, has always attracted the attention of scholars. In the process of literary translation, translators should be faithful to the source text and makes the target text smooth. Furthermore, it is more vital to highlight the writing style and artistic conception of the source text. At present, there are two strategies which are widely adopted by the Chinese translation circle, especially in literary translation field. One is foreignization and the other is domestication.
