Abstract and Key Words
Abstract: With the deepening of globalization of economy, China’s foreign trade activities become increasingly frequent. And then, the business English correspondence shows its growing role. While the business English telecommunication is a part of the business English correspondence, this article will investigate its lexical features and translation principles from the view of business telecommunication’s specific functions in the international trade so that the business correspondence will play a more effective role in trade. Writer has the further study about the abbreviation, ellipsis and transformation of the business English telecommunication. And in allusion to its lexical features, writer sums up equivalent and cooperative principles of translation.

摘要:随着经济全球化的深入,中国对外贸易活动也日益频繁,对外贸易英语函电作用日益显现。而电信作为外贸英语函电的一部分,本文将试从外贸英语电信在国际贸易过程中实现的特定功能角度,探讨其对应的词汇特征和翻译原则以期在交易中有效地发挥其作用。笔者对电信词汇的缩略、省略及转换特征进行进一步的研究,并针对其词汇特征总结出其翻译的对等和合作原则。

1. Introduction
Nowadays, foreign business English is widely used in the economy area. As a part of foreign business English, business English telecommunication also plays an important role. Generally speaking, its function is to get or to convey business English, to make or accept offer, to deal with various business. It’s different from normal English language, which can be seen from lexical features and syntactical features. Based on these features, the translation methods of business English telecommunication are different from other styles. Certainly, there are some reasons to make them special.
In most of international transactions, businessmen in different countries are separated by thousands of miles, so they often do business in detail through E-mails faxes, telegrams, telexes, airmail letters etc. However, the price of goods offered by sellers often fluctuates according to the world market, so the time element means a great deal to both parties. For example, some sellers usually demand the immediate reply from the buyers within a short time. Under this circumstance, some methods of transmission such as airmail letters would not serve the purpose. In order to bring a transaction conclusion, the transmission of an offer to buyer or acceptance to the seller by telegrams, telexes, faxes or E-mails is absolutely necessary, because they are more effective and faster for communication than letters. Of course, they also can draw the attention of receiver to the urgent nature of the matter concerned.
