Since the reform and opening-up policy was conducted, China has developed greatly and become one member of World Trade Organization. Since then, the international communication between China and foreign countries goes more and more frequently. However, different languages reflect diverse cultural contexts. And distinct ways and models of thinking exist. Thus, as a tool to multi-cultural communication and information transition, translation gains great importance. Being a bridge of multi-cultural contexts communicating, translation is also developing vigorously as China frequently communicates with other countries.
China gains extensive land and is abundant in natural resources with a long history of five thousand years. Apparently, many things don’t exist in English speaking countries and numerous things keep emerging. For example, numbers have distinct meanings in different cultural contexts. They not only can be used to count things, but also reflect thinking model and social psychology of a specific nation. They can stand for people’s cognition of nature, specific history, etc..
