摘要
随着经济全球化的不断深入,中外会展业如火如荼,发展十分迅速。汉英会展翻译活动也蓬勃发展,但中国会展业起步较晚,由此也在翻译策略上遇到更多的挑战。同时,随着当代翻译学的发展,我国的翻译研究也将汉英会展翻译纳入视野。在商务活动中,要把会展相关术语和相关信息有效地传达给外国客人,就需要一定的策略和技巧。但至今为止,却少有学者展开论述。为此,本文在现有研究的基础上,对会展英语的特点以及汉英会展翻译策略进行较为全面系统的探讨,重点介绍了直译、意译和固定译法这三种翻译技巧,以便使读者形成对汉英会展翻译策略较为系统的认识。

Abstract
With the rapid development of international exhibition industry in China and many other countries, Chinese-English (C-E) translation on convention and exhibition is thriving and facing more challenges in the choice of appropriate strategies because of the short-period development of convention and exhibition English in China. Therefore, more relevant study of the related translation strategies has appeared. Meanwhile, along with the growth of translation studies, Chinese translators are paying increasing attention to translation strategies on convention and exhibition. However, most of their studies have failed in obtaining a holistic view of translation strategies, thus leading to the need of more integrated studies.
This paper starts the research from the features of convention and exhibition English. It then puts forward some suggestions on the translation strategies. The study may help to enhance translators’ ability to flexibly select and use strategies and may thus improve the practice of the related translation. It is expected that the study can help to compensate for the weakness of the existing studies of the related translation strategies, and it is therefore of both practical and theoretical significance.

1 Introduction
After the Second World War, because of the world revolution, the U.S.A. and the U.K. developed quickly in economy, science and technology, and had become powerful and modernized countries. Therefore, their official language — English has become the most popular language tool for people all over the world. It’s a universal language. Since China opened up its door to the outside world and entered WTO, English has infiltrated all walks of life. With the increasing globalization of the world economy, International Business English is showing its great vitality and application. In order to meet different wants in different fields, English for specific purposes (ESP) has emerged. “The future English studying has its special purpose and English studying has a close relationship with special fields of science as ESP is the mainstream of the 21st century” (Liu Runqing, 1996: 25). For example, Foreign Trade English, International Monetary English, Financial English, Medical English, Tourism English, Marketing English etc., can directly meet the demands of different learners. Exhibition English is also a kind of ESP.
