摘要：

随着中国对外贸易经济往来的日益频繁，中国成为了主要的国际商务市场。越来越多的跨国商务活动不仅为中国经济的发展带来繁荣，同时也带来了更多的机遇与挑战。要在国际商务活动中取得满意的结果以及学习和借鉴国外先进的经贸经验，对于经贸英语的翻译就显得非常重要。而经贸英语缩略语在经贸英语中占的比例十分大，因而对于经贸英语缩略语的翻译也是十分重要的。本文讨论了经贸英语中缩略语的定义、特点、结构、应用及翻译技巧。

Abstract:

With the increasing foreign trade in China, China has become a main international business market. More and more cross-borders business activities bring not only the economic prosperity for China but also more challenges as well as opportunities. Translation of business English is very important in order to achieve a good result in business activity and learn advanced business experiences from developed countries. Meanwhile, abbreviations in business English play an important role in business English, so it is also very important to translate abbreviations in business English well. The definition, characteristics, composing, application and translation of abbreviations of business English will be discussed in the paper.

1.    Introduction
     With the increasing foreign trade in China, Business English becomes more and more important. Business English is a kind of business language which has a strong social function in many aspects. As the "economic principles" of abbreviations adapt to fast-paced business life in modern society, business English abbreviations develop faster. With the rapid development of new technology and the surge of all kinds of information, English abbreviations have become necessary in modern life language tool. Therefore, Zhang Xinhong said: "manufacturing abbreviations in the world today is the largest and one of the fastest growing industries." 
English abbreviations will continue to maintain high growing momentum. The first reason is the constantly emergence of new disciplines, new concepts, new theories, new technology. The second reason is that but various departments, institutions, companies come into being continuously. Another reason is that large numbers of abbreviations of business English are used in computer and information technology. English abbreviations are so popular among the people whose living and working principle is "economy, communication". And the application of abbreviations of business English reflects the psychological tendency that people want to use language in an economic and natural way. Ye Yulong’s research shows that there are about 75 percent of the information is repeated in a lengthy written communication material.
