Abstract:
With the implementation of the policy of Reform and Opening-up and the act of entering into WTO, China has strengthened the cultural exchanges with western countries. Owing to the integration of global economy and the progression of the multi-cultural age, China’s communication with other countries has developed into a new stage. Tourism, as a burgeoning service industry, has sprung up in China with abundant tourism resources. Since more and more foreign tourists visit China to appreciate the splendid scenery and the centuries-old culture, tourism industry has played an important part in the national economy. Therefore, the importance of English translation of Chinese tourism texts is noticeable, for it plays a significant role in promoting Chinese culture. This paper consists of four parts. The first part states the significance and the present situation of English Translation of Chinese tourism texts. The second part analyzes the language features of Chinese tourism texts, such as lexical feature, stylistic feature, rhetorical feature and cultural features. Based on Nida’s theory of “functional equivalence” and the language features as well as the functions of the Chinese tourism texts, the third part explores the proper methods to translate Chinese tourism texts into English. Methods like literal translation, semantic translation, analogy, annotation, omission, and etc. are all elaborated with typical examples. Part four brings what has been written to a natural conclusion.

摘 要:
中国实行改革开放并加入世贸组织以后,中国与西方国家的跨文化交流进一步增强。当今世界经济一体化程度不断加深,多元文化时代随之而来。中国与世界各国的交流已经到了一个崭新的发展阶段。旅游业作为一种新兴产业已经在中国兴起。中国是一个旅游资源大国,越来越多的外国游客来到中国旅游,领略中国的大好河山,感受中国五千年之多的悠久历史。旅游业的发展在国民经济的发展中占据了重要地位。同时,汉语旅游文本的英译在中国文化的传播过程中也扮演着重要的角色。本论文将重点研究汉语旅游文本的语言特点及翻译方法。论文共分四个部分。第一部分将陈述汉语旅游文本的英译在中国的重要性及目前的英译现状。第二部分将重点分析汉语旅游文本的词汇特征、风格特征、修辞特征和文化特征等语言特征。第三部分将在奈达“功能对等”理论的指导下,结合汉语旅游文本的语言特点和功能详细阐述汉语旅游文本的翻译方法:直译、意译、类比法、注释法、省略等。
