Abstract:
Since the implement of reform and opening up policy, a growing number of Chinese people have established more communications with the outside world especially with America and some European countries. China has built more economic and political ties with other countries than ever before. Therefore, interpreters are much in demand in all works of life. Also, there is an overwhelming heat of learning interpretation nationwide. For interpretation learners, English advertisements are one of the comprehensive and challenging interpretation materials.
Many factors contribute to the difficulty of advertisement interpretation. First of all, words and phrases in use should be familiarized if the interpreter wants to get the main idea of a piece of advertisement. Secondly, the main structure of the advertisement language and the structure of each sentence should be analyzed in order to study the logic of the advertisement. Last but not least, suitable words and phrases should be found to interpret a piece of English advertisement into Chinese. Different from translation, the time is comparatively limited and the materials should be interpreted accurately and fluently in a short period during interpretation.
Syntactical characteristics refer to the characteristics of sentence patterns frequently used in English advertisements. Sentence patterns consist of two parts, i.e. sentence type and sentence structure, each part comprising four major sentence patterns. Some examples are cited to illustrate each kind of syntax. Then the author moves on to explore the interpreting strategies by analyzing two typical examples of English advertisements. At the end of the paper, the author makes a summary and draws a conclusion.

摘 要:
自改革开放以来,越来越多的中国人更多地接触到外面的世界,尤其是欧美国家。中国同国外的经济政治往来也更为密切。因此在各行各业对口译人员有着大量的需求,口译学习热也在全国范围内兴起。对于口译学习者来说,英语广告是综合性强并且富有挑战性的口译材料之一。
英语广告的口译难度取决于许多因素。首先,要想了解一篇广告的大意,必须熟悉所要用到的词汇和短语;其次,要想弄清广告的逻辑,必须分析该广告语言的主要结构以及其中每一个句子的结构;最后,还要用合适的词汇和句型将这篇广告口译出来。不同于笔译,口译时间相对有限,必须即刻准确流利地将材料口译出来。
句法特点就是英语广告中经常使用的句式所富有的特色。常用句式可以分为两个部分:句子的种类和句子的结构。每个部分又涵盖四个主要句型,每个句型都会通过举例来说明。接着作者通过对两个典型例子的分析,探索口译策略。最后得出结论,总结全文。
