摘要

在经济全球化的发展潮流下，各国电影在世界范围内的传播已成为文化传播的重要方式。作为文化的一种载体，电影可以给人带来巨大的影响。电影片名的翻译涉及到语言的运用以及对不同文化的理解。为了避免由于不理解电影片名背后的文化内涵与隐藏意义而引起的误译错译，理解文化背景并掌握翻译的方法与原则变得至关重要。
    论文从介绍电影片名翻译的内涵、特征及功能出发，仔细研究了目前市场上电影片名翻译的现状，总结出电影片名错译误译的原因，并在此基础上提出电影片名翻译应遵循的方法和原则。论文旨在认真分析电影片名误译的原因及总结出翻译方法和原则的基础上增进人们对外来文化的理解。

Abstract

Under the background of globalization, communication of movies around the world has become a popular way of culture diffusion. As a kind of culture carrier, movies have a great influence on people. English movie title translation is related to the use of language and the understanding of different cultures. English movie titles often have some implied meaning and certain cultural connotations, in order to avoid mistranslation, it is significant for people to understand the cultural background and grasp translation methods and principles.
Based on a brief introduction of the definition, features and functions of English movie title translation, this paper makes a research of the present situation of English movie title translation, trying to analyze the causes of mistranslation, and offer some translation methods and principles. This paper aims to avoid mistranslation of English movie titles and enhance peoples’ capabilities of cross-cultural communication.
