Abstract:
In the process of globalization, the cultures of different countries are intermingling with each other. Chinese cuisine, as the treasure of Chinese culture, is also going global. Thus, the bridge of culture communication, dish name translation, is extremely important. Guided by the Skopos Theory, the author tries to study the features of Chinese dish names and make analysis of them. At the same time, the author analyzes some translation errors and illustrates them with a variety of examples. Finally, based on the different functions the translator emphasizes, the author puts forward two translation strategies: literal translation and free translation from the perspective of Skopos Theory. As a result, the Skopos Theory is made full use of in the translation of dish names.

摘要:
在全球化的今天,世界各国的文化相互交融,相互影响。作为中华文化瑰宝之一的中国菜肴也逐渐走向世界。菜名翻译,作为文化交流与传播的桥梁也就显得尤为重要。在目的论的指导下,本文从中餐菜名的命名特点出发,深入分析其命名规则。同时,笔者也对菜名的误译现象进行了分析并进行了大量例证。最后,笔者在目的论的基础上,根据译者侧重的各种功能,提出了直译和意译两种翻译策略,从而使目的论在菜名翻译中得到了充分运用。

1. Introduction
With the ongoing of globalization, the variety of cultures around the world intermingle with each other and play a more and more important role in the competition of comprehensive national strength. During the past 30 years, China has quickened its pace to the outside world. The Chinese culture both extensive and profound has aroused the interest of many foreigners. The Chinese culture, being an indispensable part of Chinese culture, also caters to many foreign guests.
In China, cooking is an art. Chinese cuisine is regarded as the treasure of Chinese culture. It is the collection of various cooking skills. The Chinese people pay much attention to the color, aroma and taste. While many foreigners are enchanted by the taste of Chinese food, the names of Chinese dishes also capture their much attention. As we all know, good translation of dish names can interest the dining person. Otherwise, inappropriate translation can affect the decision of the person.
