Abstract:
Good film title translation can add fuel to movie propaganda. The ultimate goal of translation is to achieve translation equivalence in the target language. Therefore, semantic equivalence should be used in movie title translation. This can make the translation convey the original information and maximize its usefulness. This thesis concentrates on the research of the translation of film titles,and the semantic equivalence theory of translation is used to analyze translation problems. It attempts to be discussed from the aspects of the application of film title translation, relativity of the semantic equivalence in film title translation and translation methods. Furthermore, it is put forward that the film title translation and the semantic equivalence translation can fuse in together. The results has solved application of Semantic Equivalence to film title translation and the conclusion is that semantic equivalence theory is of paramount importance to the translation of film titles. This study thus provides evidence for more scholars to explore semantic equivalence problems in film title translation.

摘要:
好的电影片名翻译能为电影宣传起到推波助澜的作用。翻译的最终目的就是在目的语上实现翻译等值,因此,语义等值在电影片名中应用最大化,可以让译文最准确的传达原文的信息。本文运用了翻译的语义等值理论围绕电影片名的翻译问题进行研究。从电影片名翻译的应用问题,相对性和翻译方法方面进行了论述、论证。提出了将电影片名翻译与语义等值译法探讨融合在一起的观点,解决了语义等值理论在电影片名翻译中的应用问题,得出了语义等值理论对翻译好电影片名至关重要。旨在为更多学者对电影片名翻译中语义等值问题的探讨提供依据。

1. Introduction
As a medium of cultural transmission, film can spread information, enrich people's life, and bring people the enjoyment of art. Excellent film title should be concise and generalize the content of film. It also reveals a brief theme of the film.
Many domestic and foreign scholars, who have done a great deal of research on the translation of film titles, have achieved important results. Han Jifeng (2012) concentrates on the research of the translation of English film titles from a multi-perspective approach which includes Nida's functional equivalence translation theory, Venuti's foreignization, German functional school's Skopos theory, cultural perspective and Nord's "functionality plus loyalty" principle. Gong Xianjing (2003), from the perspective of film title translation methods, proposed that the translators should interpret domestication and foreignization in film title translation according to differences between language and culture and reaction of the audience.
