摘 要
   
随着社会开放的程度不断深化，媒体的大力宣传,看美剧已逐渐成为人们生活中必不可少的一部分。对于美剧剧名的翻译需求也就随之而来，因而如何把剧名翻译的更加规范、吸引人，变得越来越重要。此外，一个好的剧名必定会带来巨大的商业机会。为迎合时代的发展，满足广大美剧迷们的需求，找到一个好的片名翻译模式，本文用尤金•奈达的功能对等理论来细致探讨美剧剧名的汉译。根据美剧剧名的特点以及片名的翻译标准，结合功能对等理论，即：1）形式、意义、文化对等；2）意义对等；3）重创；在功能对等理论指导下从直译与意译的角度举例剖析美剧剧名的汉译,并得出一个可供参考的翻译模式：先根据尤金•奈达翻译对等三原则得出一个或几个结果，再运用商业价值、文化差异、社会接受度等原则来检验或筛选(如果得不到一个合适的结果，就采用重创方法), 得出最终翻译版本。最后，本文列举具体例证证实这一模式可行性，并进一步提出存在问题。希望本文能对美剧翻译有所裨益。

ABSTRACT
   
With the deepening of social openness and the widespread advertising of media, watching American TV Series has gradually become an indispensable part of some people’s daily life. It calls for the translation of the title of American TV Series. Therefore, it is increasingly important to have a more formal and attractive translation. Besides, a good translated title means golden commercial opportunities. In order to cater to the times, satisfying the need of a large number of fans and finding a good translation model, this paper will employ Eugene A. Nida’s functional equivalence theory to deeply study the translation of the title of American TV Series. According to the features and translation standard of the title, combining the theory, namely: 1) equal in style, meaning, and culture; 2) equal in meaning; 3) rewriting; under the guidance of Nida’s theory, this paper will take examples to analyze the translation of American TV Series title from the aspect of literal translation and free translation. And a translation model for reference is put forward. Firstly, according to the above three principles, the writer gets one or several results, then applies such principles as commercial value, cultural difference, social acceptance to check or filter(if the result is not appropriate, recreating may be employed), reaching a final translated version. Finally, this paper takes specific examples to prove its feasibility and further present the remaining deficiency. The author hopes this paper could provide some guidance for translation group.
