Abstract

Since China’s reform and opening up as well as the increasingly frequent inter-cultural communication, plenty of outstanding films and TV programmers have been introduced to China. However, cultural differences make it is difficult for Chinese audience to fully understand both literal and implied meaning of a foreign movie. This naturally leads to the prosperity of subtitle translation business. But there is still lack of systemic theories of subtitle translation at home.
This paper starts with an introduction to subtitle and constraints of subtitle translation. By adopting the translation theory of skopostheorie, this paper attempts to put forward some translation strategies based on an individual case of Sherlock by taking the intentions and expectations of different translations subjects into accounts.

摘  要

随着中国的改革开放以及各国间跨文化交流的日益频繁，大量海外的影视作品被引入中国。但是，由于鲜明的文化差异，中国的观众无法完全理解海外影视剧中的字面亦或是深层含义，因此促成了字幕翻译领域的繁荣发展。
作为翻译领域的一个新兴产业,字幕翻译所受到的关注度逐步提高,优秀的影视剧字幕翻译能够使作品得到更好的推广，更能促进不同文化间的交流与发展。但是,现今在国内，字幕翻译质量良莠不齐，对其的重视度也明显不足，仍然缺乏系统的理论体系。本文从影视字幕及其翻译的限制条件入手，结合目的论，以英剧《夏洛克》为例，通过分析不同主体的目的和期待，提出了以个案为基础的影视字幕方案翻译策略。
