Abstract
At present, the translation research of culture-loaded words both at home and abroad have made substantial achievements, but no systematical principles and theories have been put forward. In the translation of scenic spot texts, due to the disparities between Chinese and Western cultures, and also the discrepancies among different cultures, culture-loaded words are quite difficult to be translated, so the translation of culture-loaded words in scenic spot texts remains “a hot potato” in translation circles. In this paper, the author summarizes the background, characteristics as well as the influence culture-loaded words have on cross-cultural communications by citing the specific examples of scenic spot texts. Through the elaboration of Nida’s “functional equivalence” theory, the author aims to come up with practical strategies and skills to translate the culture-loaded words in scenic spot texts under the instructions of “functional equivalence” theory.
The whole paper contains four chapters. Chapter one introduces the definition, background of culture-loaded words and the influences culture-loaded words have on cross-cultural communication; Chapter two analyzes the characteristics of culture-loaded words and the manifestation of these words in specific scenic spot texts; Chapter three elaborates the core concepts of Nida’s theory and the practical guiding significance Nida’s theory has on this research; Chapter four comes up with the practical strategies and methods to translate the culture-loaded words in scenic spot texts under the instruction of “functional equivalence”.

摘 要
目前,国内外文化负载词的翻译研究已取得较大进展,但尚未形成系统的翻译原则和理论。在旅游景点文本翻译中,由于中外文化差异,文化负载词往往很难恰当地翻译出来,因而旅游景点文本文化负载词的翻译一直是个棘手的问题。本文通过引用具体旅游景点文本实例总结文化负载词产生的背景、特点及其对跨文化交际产生的影响。笔者旨在运用奈达的功能对等理论,提出旅游景点文本中文化负载词翻译的切实可行的策略和技巧。
本文分为四部分:第一部分介绍了文化负载词的定义、产生的背景以及对跨文化交际的影响;第二部分析了文化负载词的特点及其在具体旅游景点文本中的表现;第三部分阐述了奈达功能对等理论的核心概念及对本研究的现实指导意义;第四部分提出了在奈达功能对等理论指导下旅游景点文本中文化负载词的翻译策略和方法。
