Abstract

With the rapid development of economy and reformation, especially after China’s accession to WTO, economic cooperation and exchanges between China and other countries are increasingly frequent and widespread. There is a growing recognition of the importance of business correspondence translation. As the most important and widespread foreign practical writing, business correspondence plays a very important role in international trade. A correct translation can give a big boost to the development of international trade. Many studies about the translation of business correspondence focus on types, style characters and translation skills. Most of scholars at home and abroad emphasized on literal types, cultural differences and cultural equivalence. Therefore, little research is about “faithfulness” and “adaptation” of business correspondence translation.
This thesis consists of three parts: in the first part, this thesis mainly analyzes the features of business correspondence. Part two talks about “faithfulness” and “adaptation” of translation. Part three of this thesis mainly discusses the application of “faithfulness” and “adaptation” in business correspondence translation. By the research above, the author of this thesis hopes it can give some help for business correspondence translation.

摘  要

随着中国经济的发展和改革的不断深入，尤其是在中国加入WTO以后，中国与其他国家的贸易交流愈发密切频繁。人们日益认识到准确翻译商务信函的重要性。商务信函作为最主要的也是应用范围最广泛的涉外文书，在国际贸易中起到了非常重要的作用。准确到位的商务信函翻译能够极大的推动国际贸易的发展。大多数对商务信函翻译的研究侧重于商务信函的种类，文体特点以及翻译技巧。大多数国内外学者集中在文本类型、文化差异以及文化对等的研究，而着重于商务信函翻译的“忠实”和“变通”方面的研究较少。
本篇论文由三部分组成，在第一部分主要分析了商务信函的语言特点，第二部分对翻译的“忠实”和“变通” 做了分析，第三部分研究分析了“忠实”和“变通”在商务信函翻译中的正确应用方法。笔者旨在通过以上对商务信函的研究能为提高商务信函翻译质量提供一定的帮助。
