Abstract
 
Based on the core theory of functional translation approach----Skopos Theorie, the author presents a case study of the humorous language in the popular American sitcom The Big Bang Theory by analyzing the strategies that the translator adopts when translating the humors in this sitcom. It is suggested in this thesis that the translator should take the reproduction of the humorous effects of the source language as the chief principle and choose appropriate translating strategies to make the target audience perceive the humor of the source language in accordance with their expectations to experience foreign culture and customs of the target languages.

摘   要

笔者以功能翻译理论的核心——目的论为理论依据，针对时下非常受欢迎的美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》中的幽默语言进行了个案研究，具体分析译者在翻译《生活大爆炸》中幽默语时所采取的具体策略。笔者认为在幽默语的翻译过程中，译者应该以再现原文中的幽默效果为首要原则，并根据目的语观众对于感受外国文化的期望，对目的语语言文化习惯进行语用顺应，加以选用恰当的翻译策略，将幽默的效果再现于译语，使目的语观众得到近似于源语受众群的理解和感受。

1. Introduction
Nowadays with the deepening communication between China and the Western world as well as the drastic development of network technology, more and more foreign movies and TV programs flood into Chinese screen through Internet, among which are sitcoms．These sitcoms have occupied a larger proportion and attracted more attentions among the youngsters compared to other foreign TV plays.
From the earliest American sitcom Growing Pains to the latest one The Big Bang Theory, it is easy to perceive the diversification and the huge latent capacity of American sitcoms. Although these sitcoms involve different contents in various styles, they share the same popularity for their humors.
