Abstract:

As an emerging field of translation studies, movie subtitles translation hasn’t attracted enough attention and concern currently. Compared with the translation of other literary genres, movie subtitles has its own significant features. That is to say, more attention must be paid to the translation of movie subtitles. This dissertation will take Guardians of the Galaxy as an example to study E-C translation of movie subtitles. It will give the concept and four features of movie subtitles. Also, the subtitles’ translation strategies and principles will be studied, like treating the cultural factors properly, showing the personality traits of the role, strengthening the training of specialized personnel and so on. In addition, this dissertation will study the subtitles translation of Guardians of the Galaxy. By using the information from books and resources on Internet, the author analyzes the mistranslation, deletion and other incorrect translation of Guardians of the Galaxy. After that, combined with the author’s translation practice, the author gives out her own opinions and translations. At last, the author makes a conclusion of the whole article and hope that this dissertation could make little contribution for improving the quality of translation of movie subtitles.

摘要：

影视翻译作为一个新兴的翻译研究领域，目前在翻译学界还没有引起足够的重视和关注。电影台词的翻译与其他文学体裁的翻译相比，有着其自身显著的特点。所以，在翻译研究，电影台词的翻译必须受到一定的重视。本文将以《银河护卫队》的台词为例，对电影台词的英译汉进行研究探索，并将给出电影台词的介绍及其四个语言特点。同时，本文将对电影台词翻译的翻译技巧和优化策略做出简单的研究。例如：合理恰当的处理文化因素，展现人物的性格特点，加强专业人员的培训等等。此外，本文将对《银河护卫队》的官方台词翻译进行研究分析，参考网络资源和相关书籍，找出其中错译、漏译以及其他不合理的翻译，并结合自身翻译实践，给出作者自己的观点和翻译。最后，作者将对本文进行总结，希望能够为电影台词翻译质量的提高做出一点贡献。

Introduction
With the introduction of foreign movies, especially American movies, the translation of movie subtitles has received more and more attention. Despite the introduction of many excellent movies into the mass media, the translation also needs to be improved. The translation of movie subtitles is not only to simply finish the transformation of the script, it is also a process of cross-culture communication, namely to introduce the original culture to the target audience.

As an emerging field of translation studies, in 1995, movie subtitles translation was established as independent field of study. Thus, the year 1995 is a critical year of movie subtitles translation. As a part of translation studies, the development of movie subtitles translation theory can help to improve the entire translation theoretical framework. In recent years, our country has introduced large numbers of foreign movies and television programs; however, the movie subtitles translation is still lack of theoretical guidance.
