近年来,随着世界各国经济的快速发展，地区间联系的日益密切，英文影视作品不断涌入我们的视线，并影响着我们的文化，字幕翻译就是在这样的情境下兴起并不断被人重视的。并且也随着中国对外开放的不断深入，电影电视作品成为现代社会中不可或缺的部分，尤其是英文影视作品极大地受到中国观众的欢迎。 电视剧《绯闻女孩》是由塞西莉·冯·齐格萨的小说改编而成。“绯闻女孩系列”(Gossip Girl)是塞西莉·冯·齐格萨的第一套小说,也是她的成名作，绯闻女孩系列”（Gossip Girl）出版至今全美销量超过500万册，曾连续70周登上《纽约时报》畅销书排行榜。目前已售出英国、德国、法国、日本等35个国家和地区版权，并被译为33种语言。根据小说改编的青春偶像剧全球热播。
20世纪70年代以后，以德语国家为主而兴起的功能主义学派逐渐受到翻译界的关注。本文以德国功能主义的理论为依据，并依据影视翻译的特点，对电视剧《绯闻女孩》的字幕翻译进行一系列的研究。

Abstract:

Nowadays, with the rapid development of world economy, and the increasingly close contact among world regions. English movies begin to come into our sight, and affect our culture. And in this case，subtitle translation is produced and valued.Besides，with the frequent exchanges between China and foreign countries, the films and TV programs have become the indispensable parts in the modern society,especially the English films are more popular than others among Chinese audiences.Cecily Brooke von Ziegesar (born June 27, 1970)is an American who is well known as a writer for the young adult Gossip Girlseries of novels.And this TV series is adapted according to the book.Gossip Girl Series "(Gossip Girl) is the first set of Cecily von Zigza's novels, is also famous one for her.It had been sold more than 5000000 copies since publication.And it had been seen the bestseller on New York Times for 70 weeks.At present,it has been sold more than 35 countries and regions,including Britain,Germany,France,Japan.It is a great hit in idol dram.
   After 1970s, the functionalism in German countries began to catch the attention of translation studies.Based on the Functionalist Perspective and the characters of subtitle translation，this paper mainly discusses the subtitle translation of Gossip Girl.

1.Introduction
  1.1 Purpose And Significance of the Study
Nowadays,with the frequent exchanges between China and foreign countries, the films and TV programs have become the indispensable parts in the modern society,especially the English films are more popular than others among Chinese audiences.They are important channels not only in information but in entertainment.Besides, the appreciation of foreign film and TV programs can promote the exchanges and communication among various culture, and thus, the translation studies of the films and TV programs are gradually on the rise these years.Consequently,Subtitle translation has become one of a new field of translation   practice.Therefore,learning about how to translate the films or TV programs under the guidance of proper theories is of vital significance.Because it can not only enable Chinese audiences to appreciate the works,but can improve their understanding of foreign culture.
