Abstract
With the feminism rising in the twentieth Century, a similar status and experience of women and translation combines the logical translation and feminism. Pearl S. Buck, a very famous female writer, is frequently studied on her writings. However, her translations, an important part of her literary contributions, are rarely paid attention to. In view of this, the author takes Pearl S. Buck's translation, Shui Hu Zhuan, as a case study, attempting to explore the translator's subjectivity in translation from the perspective of the feminist translation theory. By analyzing Pearl S. Buck's translations, we can find that Pearl S. Buck displays great subjectivity in the selection of the text, especially the selection of her own words in the translated texts. In this thesis, the author makes a specific analysis of how Pearl S. Buck's female subjectivity is displayed, in order to provide a new platform for the study of translation.
