摘要

由于中西方文化上的的差异，中国政治新词的翻译一直以来都是翻译的重点和难点。这就要求我们在翻译中国政治新词时要尤其注重准确性，以便让西方读者与学者们更好地理解中国时事热点与中国国情。
许多学者已经在中国政治新词的英译研究方面做了很多尝试，但大多数只是列出中国政治新词的译文和翻译中国政治新词的一些方法，理论性和实用性都不强。
本文作者分析了翻译中国政治新词的原则，讨论了英译策略，并且提出用直译法与其他翻译方法相结合的总体结构。
本文试图以一种较为创新的方式探讨中国政治新词翻译的原则及策略。作者首先介绍了作为本文理论基础的主要观点。在对中国政治新词做出界定后，作者总结了新词的分类及特点，而后分析了中国政治新词英译应遵循的几项原则，并且以这些原则为指导，结合具体事例提出政治新词的英译可以采取的几种策略。论文的最后，作者对尝试翻译中国政治新词的译者提出了一些合理化建议。

Abstract

The translation of Chinese political terms have always been an important issue and difficult task due to the distinction between Chinese and western culture and policies. It requires accuracy when translating Chinese political expressions so as to help western readers and scholars better understand China’s policies and national conditions .
Some academic attempts in this translation field have been made by many language workers for our references. Nevertheless, these studies are far from satisfactory since most of them just list the Chinese political expressions, their English versions and some possible strategies, which lacks both the theoretical basis and practicability.
In this thesis the principals and strategies of translating Chinese political expressions have been put forward, and the approach of combining direct translation with other translation methods is proposed. Finally is the solutions to the problems and difficulties of new Chinese political expressions-translation.
The thesis tries to probe into translation principles and strategies in an creative way. First and foremost, some main concepts and ideas are introduced to form the theoretical basis. Then a definition is given to new Chinese political expressions, whose classification s and features are summarized afterwards. It is pointed out that translators should make flexible use of strategies in translating new Chinese political expressions according to the translation purpose. Last but not least, some useful suggestions are made to translators who want to have a crack at the translation of new Chinese political expressions.
