摘要

在当今全球化的社会中，有必要积极将好的优秀的文化进行吸收借鉴，同时，随着国外优秀文化以及我们中国自身优秀文化展示的舞台也逐渐广阔，不论是欣赏国外诗歌，还是推广我国优秀诗歌，诗歌的翻译活动对于提供全球优秀文化借鉴、发展文化事业大繁荣大发展是至关重要的。因此，英诗汉译是翻译工作者翻译外国文学作品时必须掌握的基本技能。本篇论文关注的主题就是诗歌的翻译。首先，作者对所译诗歌的作者及作品进行介绍，接着分析诗歌的可译性问题，最后指出进行翻译活动时所用的英诗汉译的方法。

Abstract

In today’s world, it is necessary to actively absorb excellent foreign culture and use it for reference. At the same time, along with the development of excellent foreign culture and our own outstanding culture – regardless of the appreciation of foreign beautiful poetry or the popularization of Chinese outstanding poetry - the activity of poetry translation is crucial to understand global culture and to develop culture. Therefore, poetry translation is the basic skill that translator must grasp when engaging in foreign literatures translation. This paper focuses on Chinese translation of English poetry. At the beginning, the writer introduces the poet Rudyard Kipling and his poem “If”. The writer then translates the piece and analyzes the translatability of poem. In the end, the writer summarizes some methods used in Chinese translation of English poetry “If”.
