摘要

随着中国旅游业的蓬勃发展,越来越多的外国游客来到中国旅游。虽然这些外国游客并不是全部来自英语国家,但是作为当今的世界通用语,英语成为出行时的一个重要的交流工具。因此,旅游英语开始在中国的旅游业中流行,并成为促进旅游发展的重大因素之一。不仅许多旅游从业者在学习旅游英语,普通英语专业也在学习旅游英语,并且越来越多的汉语旅游资料被翻成英语。然而,因为旅游英语的特殊性以及由于中西文化差异而导致的汉语和英语在语言习惯上的不同,做好这些并不容易,并且在使用旅游英语翻译时出现了许多问题。
对此,本文首先通过对旅游英语本身的研究,揭示了旅游英语的语言功能,并且从语言学和文化的角度,分析了旅游英语翻译目前存在的问题,通过这些问题了解我国旅游英语翻译的现状,进而总结出数个翻译技巧用以解决译者在进行旅游英语翻译过程中所遇到的具体问题。

Abstract

With the rapid development of Chinese tourism industry, more and more foreigners come to China to travel. Although not all of the foreigners are come from English countries, as a common language in today’s world, has become the most important tool of communication when go to visit. So tourism English becomes popular in China, and becomes a significant factor to promote development of tourism. Not only many employees in tourism start to studying tourism English, but also the common students of English major start learning tourism English and and more Chinese tourist materials are translated into English. But it is not always easy to do so, and many problems exist in using tourism English and especially in tourism English translation because of the specialty of tourism English and the differences between Chinese and English caused by the big gap between Chinese and Western cultures.
In this case, the essay firstly aims to expose the language functions of tourism English, and analyze its distinctive features in terms of linguistics and culture, which identifies tourism English’s problem. Through those problem, we can know the status of tourism English of our country, and then, several translation technique are presented with suitable examples to meet the translators’ need of settling the specific problems confronted in tourism English translation as well.
