摘  要

近年来中国经济快速发展，大众娱乐也日趋多元化。外国电视剧，尤其是美国情景喜剧，在中国受到许多观众青睐。《生活大爆炸》就是其中之一，它深受国内观众的喜爱。但并不是每一位观众都能理解其中的语言幽默，因此字幕翻译至关重要。功能对等理论由奈达提出，指的是在翻译时不求文字表面的死板对应，而要达成两种语言间功能上的对等。国外影视作品也需要借助更好的字幕翻译，以达到传播文化、娱乐观众、创造收益的目的。通过查阅资料，本文列举了《生活大爆炸》中比较具有代表性的幽默翻译案例，根据功能对等理论的要求，论述该如何进行幽默翻译。总之，功能对等理论能很好地指导字幕翻译研究。

Abstract

In recent years, China has witnessed rapid development in the field of economic, and mass entertainment has become more diversified. Foreign TV series, especially the American sitcoms, have gained increasing popularity among audiences gradually in China. The Big Bang Theory is one of those sitcoms which are deeply loved by the domestic audiences. But not all the people can understand the humorous language in these TV series, so subtitle translation is really essential. Functional Equivalence Theory was put forward by the American linguist and translator Eugene A. Nida. It aims at no rigid literal translation but a functional equivalence between the two languages when the corresponding text is translated. Foreign TV shows also need to base on the help of a better subtitle translation in order to achieve the purpose of cultural exchange, entertaining the audience, as well as the purpose of creating revenue. After consulting for information on the web and in the library, this paper exemplifies The Big Bang Theory in the more representative cases of humor translation, according to the requirements of functional equivalence theory, and then this paper also discusses how to make humor translation. In a word, functional equivalence theory can guide the subtitle translation studies well and it is the supreme theory in subtitle translation.
