摘　要

随着我国经济发展迅速，使得中国经济在全球都处于瞩目的地位，我国的对外贸易也随之保持着迅猛发展的态势，但与此同时，贸易中产生的争议与纠纷也从未停息。由于国际贸易中的规则和政策都是由英文而撰写，因此对于信用证的翻译我们必须加以多倍的注意。基于前人对外贸信用证的翻译研究，本文将继续深入探讨，运用韩理德的系统功能语法，从语场、语旨和语式方面进行研究。通过了解分析,信用证的语场特点多使用专业术语，逻辑意义多用短语衔接来完成。语旨特点上，信用证翻译古体词和外来词的运用是为了避免偏意，及物系统和祈使句的使用是为了保证双方的关系是平等互利的交易。语式特点体现在词汇、语法的衔接上面。从语域理论方面出发，通过对信用证这一特殊文本特征进行分析，译者可以通过语场，语旨和语式的对等，使得翻译更加准确得体。

Abstract

Nowadays, accompanied by the development of our economy, which make our country stand at the salt of the earth, followed by the increasing rising total volume of the foreign trade. However, at the same time, the increasing number of disputes and problems appearing in the process of development. Therefore, it is necessary for us to be specially focus on the translation of L/C due to many controversies of trade are results of misunderstanding of L/C English. Based on the former study of L/C translation, the thesis will analyze the linguistic features and translation of L/C from three elements of register theory, they are field, tenor and mode. Which is an important theory of Systematic-Function Grammar proposed by Halliday. Research results show that the translation of the letter of credit would be better, if the translation meet the equivalence of field, tenor and mode. The field of L/C is realized by the use of word choices, transitivity system and logic linking. The tenor of L/C is demonstrated through archaism and loan words, polarity and modality. The mode of L/C is realized though the use of thematic and translation structures, together with lexical and grammatical cohesion. After analysis of register theory, the conclusion can be seen that the register theory is applied and with the guide of register theory, the text of L/C translation can be better understood and would be better achieved.
